Takashi Murakami

Takashi Murakami is a Japanese contemporary artist. He is known for blurring the line between "fine art" (the kind of paintings you usually see in museums) and "low art" (less traditionally appreciated kinds of art like cartoons, anime, and graffiti). Murakami has called his specific style of art Superflat, which includes bold cartoony outlines and flat colors without shading or depth. He was born in 1962 and still lives in Japan.
